Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
It has been one miserable experience after another for us.
I don't even want the house anymore.

ugh.
why does it stink so much?
I hope it works out. I hope I don't have an ulcer or a drinking problem by the time it does.

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
Thanks!
It needs to get better soon. I am not even excited about having a house.
I spend my days waiting to hear what else has gone wrong or who left early and forgot to do what or who lost what information and needs it again, if that's ok.
Bah.
The good news is that the contract is apparently signed and the closing is in May. A month and a half more of this.

See, things are moving in the right direction. It will get better, I promise. Focus on how great it will be once you are all moved in and settled.

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
We had problems up until last week when I fired our lawyer and switched to a competant one. Now we'll most likely close the 1st week of May.
Good Luck though, the way I see it is that it will all be worth it in the end

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
I'm closing on a loan right now and the the title company has gotten it wrong twice already.
They've overnighted more documents to me and then had the nerve to charge me overnight courier fees in my settlement statement.
Let's not even discuss that they spelled my husband's name wrong, the price of the condo and still had the nerve to try and charge me state tax and stamps for $25.
I should have closed this loan 2 weeks ago.

That is horrible! I work for a title company and there is no excuse for that.

me, me, me... I liked it in the begining, then it got really stressful. Now we are in contract, and the waiting really stinks. It is not fun! Not unless you have a lot of money and you dont have to worry about anything.

If I didn't check the settlement statement they would have put it through for $17,000 higher than negotiated. The title closer couldn't even answer my simple questions. I'm tempted to have a lawyer look at these docs.

You should have your new lawyer look at the title report, most definitely. Your original lawyer ordered the title. There are some shady title companies out there. Sorry you are going through this. If you need my help with anything, FM me.

Don't have a lawyer-this is AZ-no lawyers required. I'm going to get one of the lawyers that I work with to look at it. I've done this before and I'm pretty confident, but after they keep making mistakes it gets me nervous.

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
While I'm glad that it's not just me hating this, it su*ks to see how many problems can occur.
$17,000 more??? That's a ridiculous mistake!!
But back to focusing on the fact that maybe someday soon I'll have a house to come home to and all of this will be a distant unpleasant memory....until we have to move again!

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
I have been there. We went to contract in February and closed in Sep they had so many problems closing (all their's - not ours) and they wouldnt return our money. If I wasnt getting married in Oct I would have walked away, sued them and bought another house. Unfortunately, because of all the problems I still am not enjoying this house and cant wait to sell it. I cant get past it for some reason, dont let that happen to you.

Glad I caught it. I caught some other stupid errors too. I'm going to look over these docs with a fine toothed comb for sure. This error also would have cost me another $1000 at closing.
ETA: At least it will be over soon. This is a place for my parents-they will never have to worry about a place to live. It's worth it.

This is what I'm afraid will happen to us. I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park but every. single. thing. has been problematic.
I am so sorry that you're not enjoying your house though. What a drag to go through all that & it not to be worth it in the end.

Re: Is anyone else NOT enjoying the home buying process??
absolutely hate it!! we found a great house last year only to have hubby laid off the day before the binder was due. We truly believe it was a blessing in disguise - we already live in a 2br condo, so we really are in no super rush. When the time comes again, we are taking our time and taking it slow!
