Favorite Cover Songs
I was listening to Trains version of Ramble On originally by Led Zepplin.
I think I like Trains version much better.
Anyone have any other favorites that are better than the original band?

OMG...I was just thinking the same thing...I was listening to Train cover "Dream ON" by Aerosmith...What a great song and the cover was awesome too.
Maybe it's just b/c Train kicks a*s*s!

I like the Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink remake of Lady Marmalade, but that's about it.
Haven't heard Train's version but it sounds like blashphemy to me!

I was thinking of posting the same when I saw the title.
Some of us were all listeing to the Stern repeat today I LOVE Pat from Train's voice. With about 90% of covers I'm  but occassionally I do have to say some covers are as good or better than the original.
I could not believe how well Pat nailed the last notes of Dream On... that's a very hard part to do well.

Isn't I Will Always Love You by WHitney Houston a cover from Dolly Parton? I'm pretty sure Dolly did it first, if so that's a great cover.

I usually hate cover songs, but there are 2 that come to mind that I think are better than the originals:
The Sundays doing The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses"
Cowboy Junkies doing Velvet Undergrounds' "Sweet Jane"

I had heard Train do the version live 2 years ago and LOVED it so it was so cool to hear it on Howard yesterday. I have to get a copy of both covers by train.
I can't think of too many others that I really like although the remake of Lady Marmalade did kick azz

I think there is more success of cover songs when the songs are old standards, like from the 40's and 50's when a lot of songs back then had several people recording them.
