I do not blame you at all for thinking about this - unfortunately, we are defined sometimes by how we look, and in this day of celeb moms posing in friggin Playboy or walking down Victoria Secret runways 11 seconds after giving birth and looking perfect doesnt help either!
And that's the worst thing to compare ourselves to. These people have personal trainers and chefs to get them back into shape. I don't know any "real" people who are able to afford that.
I know!!!
But EVERYONE makes a big to do about it - look - she just dropped a baby and she's in a bikini now! And all she did was some pilates and "forget" to eat because she's too busy with the baby!

Re: Anxiety about changing body
I did in the beginning, but now i realize that i really can't control how much i gain and that the most important thing is to have healthy babies. I am very determined to lose this weight after they are here though. And for someone who has always watched what she ate and drank, i can honestly say now that I always tell myself this is the one time to enjoy the things i restricted before i got pregnant...mainly ice cream!!!
I think the beginning is hard because you just look like you gained weight and people don't know you are pregnant. It gets better when you start to have a belly and then start feeling the baby kick. Then those feelings start to disappear. At least they did for me.

I am not PG yet but I have gained 25 lbs since getting married 3 yrs ago With that said, I am overweight and short (5'1") so I am terrified of what I will look like! But I think I will still be happy and try to look cute!

My DH said his exwife was overweight before she got pregnant, and he made her eat so well she actually gained very little during pregnancy and lost so much after. He said the 2 times she was pregnant were the best she's ever looked!

I gave up about 4 weeks ago. Around 20 weeks your uterus just pushes up regardless of your size making this preggo pocket look. I dont think it looks fat I just think it looks very preggo. I am not fond of mirrors these days but I am carrying pretty well so far.
