IMO, not wanting to do something doesn't take precedence over proper ettiquette. Personalizing over 50 TYs IS excessive, however, writing a couple a day for 2 weeks would help avoid anyone's hands from falling off.
her shower was a little different...Her BP had ALREADY made up TY's for her. So i think it would be completely unnecessary to send ANOTHER TY just because it is personalized. Lets face it MOST of the wedding and shower TY's are fairly general in nature anyway (of course sometimes people will state the actual gift, it isn't nec).
Either way, I'm sure most of the guests at the shower were disappointed that they didn't get a personalized TY afterwards. I would rather hurt my hand from writing, than have someone think I was being inconsiderate of their generous gift. IMO, TYs on favors are impersonal & informal, and should be followed up with personal TYs.
Yes it is your Personal Opinion but that doesn't mean you are correct. And it seems that you are insulting her for no reason ....that is her choice !

For my bridal shower, my mom attached thank you cards to the favors thanking all the guest for coming and for their gifts. So I never mailed out thank you cards after my shower.
Interesting. . .I have never heard of anything like that.
What about the people that could not attend, but sent a gift? Did they get a hand written thank you, or did your mom send them the pre-printed cards, too?
