I have a feeling a lot of people are going to get screwed with these rising utility bills and end up on the "ramen noodle diet".
You may even see a rise in forclosures, and I think once the price of oil hits the mainstream... its going to halt the escalating sales price increases we are used to seeing.

Anothing thing I'd like to add is that alot of the people are living off of "borrowed" money. Money from refi's and reg. mortgages from the low % rates we had. With all these other costs going up, people are going to be strapped and I truly believe that this housing bubble will burst. It's just so sad that so many people are going to be affected by it.

Yeah but my wife unfortunately thinks otherwise. She claims we can afford it and if times get hard we "will manage".
I don't buy into that philosophy so its creating a problem.

I heard that you should wait until things settle down from the hurricane to lock in a week or two. Luckily we have 1000 gallon tank so it still is pretty full from January when we last had it filled. We also use propane for the stove, hot water and dryer which is cheaper-about 75 bucks to fill a 50 gallon tank-lasts about 1-11/2 months

We locked in today at 2.69 (a discount from the basic 2.89 they are giving because we have been long time customers).
I had spoken to Slomins back in May and they wanted us to lock in at 2.149 but I said I needed to check with the DH (I think at the time we were paying 1.89 and were ******). We forgot & never called them back!!
