I started seeing that right after Katrina last month and was kind of surprised since I had not seen that in a really long time.
Actually, I don't think the 10 cents pays the credit card fee...there's a transaction charge plus a % of sales.
I kind of look at it that we were always paying the credit price and now there's a discounted cash price. It's easier for me that way

ye it was at Exxon stations.
BUT like really like they dont charge us ENOUGH for gas.. they are making a big enough profit.. They could pay the credit charge. I dont carry cash.

We were always paying the cc charge...it just didn't seem like it because it was all one price.
I rarely carry cash either which of course is my choice but if I happen to not notice the different prices, I am not going to get upset about the extra $1.00 or 1.50 to fill up my tank. If it bugged me, I'd stash a $20 in the glove box for when I need to fill up.

Yup it was Exxon for me too. Oddly enough, there is another Exxon about 1/4 mile away that DOESN'T charge extra for credit. I was so mad that I didn't notice in time.
