Hey Levittowners.... you have some NEW Neighbors
YUP.
Mrjune262004 and I bought a house in Levittown. Its so exciting! We went there tonight to see the big SOLD sign outside!
We arent sure when we will go to closing yet since the people had a bid on a house and the seller accepted a higher bid. She did this the day before the people had an engineer go in, let their kids go in (who arent thrilled about moving) and pick out their rooms. The people we are buying from MATCHED that bid (after she screwed them) and while their RE agent was there the other RE agent went in with a bid for 10,000.00 HIGHER! The are pretty upset since the kids are due to start school soon and they'd rather them start a new school in the begining of the year. BUT we are on a month to month payment here at our apartment so we told them no biggie we will just have to ammend the contract. they are truly the nicest people.
ANYWAY Its a levit Cape... Here are some pics

they have 2 extensions on the house. One for the dinning room and then there is a DEN behind the wall in the dinning room.
You can see the other extension here. they added a small room which we are going to make our office

Wow, it is very nice! It looks familiar to me- but I think I say that about all the Levitts I see. Where in Levittown is it? I wonder if it's near my parents?

Ya everything is updated and extended. The little extension in the back is off the small bedroom in the back of the cape next to the bathroom. all they were able to fit in there is their Bed and thats it. they have their dresser (and washer and dryer) in the small bedroom (for anyone who knows capes)
One day we'd like to extended that extension over and make it a big master bedroom.
the Fireplace and Kitchen are what sold me!

We put in our bid 3 days before the open house and we were praying that we got the house. We really thought the house would of went into a major bidding war and we were shocked when the real estate agent called me on tuesday to tell me we got it...
I am just glad you got one of the good houses in levittown...I have seen a lot of scary ones, And I know you have too
Our friends closed last week on their levitt cape and they are getting the keys on friday....They will be 5 blocks from me.....and Danielle.....

Ya i know there were a lot of people at the open house. He said he already had a lot of bids. Mike and I really liked your house.
Thats cool about your friends. Its so cool that so many young people are moving into Levittown. We went to our house tonight and it was filled with young kids.
I loved growing up in levittown and I know I will love living there and you will too.

HMM We looked at houses priced anywere from 340,000.00 - 429,000.00 The higher priced ones were just as much crap as the lower priced ones. Thank GOD we got lucky with this house. And scott got lucky with his house also.

Schools arent bad. I went to Island trees which always had a better reputation then Levittown District for some reason. But ive heard Levittown district is really good now.
Levittown District Taxes are more money then Island Trees.

Ok thanks for the info. I will have to mention this to Vanessa and see what she thinks.
But being from the east end... i don't know if she will be able to handle a 60x100 property (wouldn't bother me).
But it is way closer to the city for me... especially when I have to come home late from DJing. Its probably real close to Woodbury too for her job.

Mike is in Woodbury It is close. You just take Hempstead Tpke to the 135 and get off at the second to last exit and Cablevision is right there.
Well i grew up in levittown so the size of the property didn't bother me. They are mostly all that size. Only difference is when they built the houses they stagered them. Like some are closer to the street and some are further back.
my parents is closer to the street so they have a big back yard.
Ours is set back from the street leaving the backyard smaller. BUT there is still room for a pool

Well thats the thing. Vanessa wants a pool one day. So the property has to be at least big enough for that.
But this sounds like a good compromise. She would like the proximity to her job. Hell... we are totally ruling out NJ because she enjoys her work so much.
I am a Queens boy and even though I lived in buildings all my life... the houses in my area are 40x100.

Off-Topic.... didn't you once tell me Mike was in Bethpage? Did he move to Woodbury recently?
Vanessa told me they moved most of Melville (the calling center) to Woodbury.
She hates it cause her parking lot is a lot more crowded now.
