Re: Yikes! Almost passed out on the train last night! UPDATE

The only bad thing is that it often leads to diabetes later in life, and makes me very susceptible to gestational diabetes Chat Icon But now that i know, I can hopefully take steps to prevent it. I'm just glad to finally have an answer for SOMETHING.

I may have fibromyalgia (again, no answer), which means I get all kinds of crazy syptoms with no explanation, so getting an answer for anything is like, amazing

Update:
I got back some preliminary blood test results.

What they found was that my blood sugar was extremely low. There's some measure of blood sugar over a 4-6 week period and it was very, very low. What the doc thinks it is, based on my history of getting headaches, dizziness when I don't eat is that I'm hyper-reactive to insulin, so my body clears the sugar and stores it as fat too quickly, causing my blood sugar to drop dramatically. This would solve a lot of things, like why I'm tired and foggy a lot, why I get so sick when I don't eat, and also why I am heavy even though I don't eat more/worse than a normal person. We had been looking into thyroid conditions, etc for the weight thing, but this could really be an answer, because it seems that my body is converting sugar to fat too quickly before I can use/burn it. So this would answer a lot of questions. I have to go for an ICK...3 hour glucose tolerance test to confirm it and then I may have to go on medication, which *****, but I'm so glad I might have an answer. it's better than "we don't know what happenned" because then it can happen again and again at any time. If it's this, I can prevent it with medication and adjusting my eating habits to make sure I'm eating something smalle very few hours.

Thanks for all of the concern and FMs and everyone who asked me how I've been. This may be TMI and more than anyone ever needs to know about my blood sugar, but to me it's such a relief to have an ANSWER for once. Chat Icon
