I don't think any of us want the drama - it's hard enough dealing with MIL issues over grandchildren, sleep deprivation and everything else that comes along with motherhood. I know I don't want the upheaval of arguing with people I barely know. I have enough of that in my everyday life. My post wasn't meant to criticize the other boards - it was meant to say how great everyone was on THIS board.
The NFR board can be supportive at times & other times, well it's just not. You don't have to spawn children to use some form of tact when criticizing someone - and some people on those boards just don't use it. I hope all of the other posters join the parenting board (if they want to go that route) and just keep the back biting elsewhere.
And now that it's midnight & I've finished wrapping presents for 3 hours, I get to lay out my kids clothes to have them dressed & out of the house by 7am.
And to all a good night...{baby dust} {baby dust}...followed by graceful exit.
I totally agree, i didn't think your post was criticizing anyone. Another post certainly did.
And the spawning of children doesn't imo change anything, some who engage in drama HAVE THEM. In fact they are deeply involved in drama. But whatever. I think it is great when you can enjoy the place you go to everyday for help and support. I just do not think it is necessary to put down others when doing it. And although not you, it was done on this thread by a parent.
Notoriously on LIW, lines were drawn distinquishing and highlighting people (ex. NW's vs. brides). And for the first time LIF really had the mixing of all the posters from LIW. It would just be nice to keep that slow merging of people on all these boards.
And to just not expect that just because drama happens on one board means that drama will come to this board just because people are TTC or PG. Give people a chance. NFR has more drama because it isn't as personal imo. There isn't any drama over on the Pet board, rarely on the Home board, or the Hometeam boards either. And those have the same posters on NFR.
Like i said...give people a chance.

I also agree that this board is great. Everyone here is so supportive and helpful and I for one CAN'T WAIT for all the new mommies to join us. We get to meet all new babies and see cute baby pics...
I don't think we are (or should be) concerned over the "sanctity" of this board as more and more new mommies join us because I feel that the overall supportiveness and understanding of this board would overpower any drama. Over here we are about babies and families, new motherhood and BTDT motherhood, and those themes are what drive this board so I don't see any unrelated drama carrying over here.
I post on both, probably more so on NFR than here, and it's a completely different attitude when I come over here. 
I can't WAIT for you to get over here Red... now go make a Christmas Baby!! 
And welcome to all the new mommies, and the ones that are just a few short months away from joining us!! You will love it here!

Again, I made generalizatons. If you want to chase windmills and assume I'm speaking of anyone in particular, that is your choice. But the fact alone that we are on page 2 of this and the responses that followed my explanation of MY OWN personal feelings obviously gives merit to my original comments. Now, if you want to continue to drag this issue out, why not f/m me instead of propogating MORE unnecessary drama on the one board that it doesn't need to exist on??

i wasn't thinking you were talking about anyone specific. THAT would have been a tad bit better, still uncalled for and unecessary, than generalizing about groups of people.
I am not dragging out anything. You had yoru opinion and i have mine. I lurk a lot on TTC, PG and this board now. ANd to see what you wrote was not only hurtful but just plain unnecessary and since you were NOT specific i get lump into the group you generalized about. Whether i belong there or not.
Again, instead of assuming what may happen...MAYBE could just give people a chance and welcome everyone. And if said drama occurs then maybe your opinions can hold some merit.
But since drama pretty much occurs on NFR as opposed to the, what is it 8 other topics on this board, i think the sancity of this board can remain intact...

I absolutely agree but I'm concerned for the sanctity of this board as others transition into TTC and parenting I feel that at some point down the road, this board will have the same feel as NFR, etc.

I'm confused...where in my response did I name you specifically (or anyone else for that matter)? Considering I have always been supportive towards your pregnancy, I'm just not getting it.
I'm generalizing about the overall tone and actions of some who participate on NFR and the concern that they may bring that drama element to this board as well.
I never said you named me all I am saying is thats a pretty crappy thing to say

I agree with this. I think the nfr board drama is usually about stupid things and are not personal attacks (for the most part).
I will still never understand the whole drama thing, if people don;t like it they don't have to read it.
That being said- I love the parenting board, it is so helpful and when the new moms come I hope I can be helpful too!
