I am hoping the closing date is sometime next week... the week after the LATEST. They are in the process of scheduling the date now.
I am just glad the paperwork is done. The goddam survey took forever... or else i could have been closed by now.

Well I finally got a closing date of November 17th. The only crappy thing is I have to let the seller continue to occupy the house till December 5th.
My rate lock expires on November 21st... and I would rather close on time and guarantee my 5.375%... than to risk paying $395/week rate extentions and hope that they even let me extend my rate. My mortgage broker (who I felt had EXCELLENT rates) is currently at 6.25%. Yuck.
At least my wife will get to put the xmas tree up in the new house. We bought a real nice tree after xmas last year... and I know she will really enjoy putting this up in the new house.

Did you have anything in your contract that charges them rent for occupying the house for so long after a close date?
Our contract gave them 3 days after closing and then $100 per day for first five days then $300 per day after that.
