OMG!! I would be appauled if my sons school did this without me knowing about it first.
My son is 10 too.. I think 4th grade is to early to know about erections and what causes them..
I think maybe before they go into JR. high, like 12.. is a little better for me.
Honestly, when I was in the second grade one of my classmates told me alllllll about sex. I was 7 and my natural reaction was  . I asked my babysitter if it was true and she told me no. By the time I was in 4th grade (9 years old) ANOTHER classmate explained it all to me again. The way I see it (and I have no children but I can't see me changing my stance on this) I'd much rather the teacher give my child the facts than another 9 or 10 year old.
