Steph - Try Twin Oaks. It would be great for Jared as well - it is mostly Merrick kids there. I send Sammy there for school and camp and her loves it. They take great care of him too.

I don't know if Commack is too far, but the Suffolk Y is hiring assistant teachers.

Re: I think I might need to go back to work...

Thank you ladies for the hugs and the great advice. I applied for a job listed on craigslist for a head teacher of 2 year olds in Massapequa. They didn't tell me the name of the daycare, I have yet to find that out, but they will be willing to accommodate Jared.

They asked me what kind of salary I was looking for...which I thought was weird because they're the ones offering the job...shouldn't they know what the pay is? I have NO idea what to tell them...I don't know how much a head teacher gets paid at a daycare..Chat Icon I also can't make any decisions on money until I go and check out the daycare for myself and see if I want to send Jared there.

And by the way...the house deal fell through in Merrick...the house turned out to be no good...TOO much work. So now we're looking in the North Bellmore area...Chat Icon

They probably want to make sure they can afford you. Your a cert. teacher right? They may be worried that the pay cut is too much for you.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Everything will work out - I'm sure Stefanie.

Have you given any thought to doing daycare in your home? Evidently you can charge a buttload of money even without the awesome qualifications that you have.

Actually.... wanna watch Jake P/T? Chat Icon Ok...I'm kidding. Sort of. Chat Icon Chat Icon

You know...I didn't even consider watching children in my home because I live in a co-op. Where my co-op is such an inconvience for people to bring their kids...now that I'm buying a house and I will have more room...I guess this is something I *could* consider.

You still haven't found someone to watch Jake???
