I just did the SAME thing! I was completely OUT of excuses and believe me I used everything (flat tire, doctor's appointments, follow up appointments, I even went so far to say that I was diagnosed with a disease just to get time off -- we had team lunches every single day so it is not even like I could "take a long lunch" like you were). I have to tell you that it was the BEST decision I ever made. I was out of work for a total of 3 weeks and I just accepted a job offer for MORE than I was making at my last job and I really feel that there is NO WAY I could've continued interviewing if I stayed at my last position. Especially because EVERY job interview I went on required at LEAST TWO rounds and sometimes THREE . Good luck to you - it is a VERY stressful time but in the end it will be worth it! Sending you JOB DUST!
