Apple and Pumpkin Picking on LI
Are there any apple picking orchards on LI? Pumpkin picking too? I've only been to ones upstate but wondering if anyone can recommend one closer on LI. TIA!

It is! It's funny because my DH has really long arms..I call him monkey boy. Anyway, they have a $15 all you can carry pumpkin deal, and he carried 25 pumpkins! Big ones! They said it was the most anyone ever carried! This year I think I want to do the apple picking because we have a condo and not much room to display pumpkins.

I live in Wading River, once the end of September comes around, the town is jammed on the weekends through the middle part of October. I would go out there soon or try during the week.

There's an orchard in Ft. Salonga right off the Sunken Meadow or whatver it's called up there. I think it's just called Ft. Salonga Farm

Thats pretty cool. My MIL is in Wading River so I am out there occasionally.
Yeah it gets busy during the "seasons". My MIL hates the traffic it brings. LOL

If you ever get bored at MIL stop by.
We hate the traffic too, but it's for only a few weekends a year, so we deal with it. Usually by going out for the day.

Nope, that's Richter's Orchard. No picking there, but they do have apples and cider and other fruit already picked, and in bags for you to buy. They a little more expensive than other places.

LIE to Exit 68. Take 68 to the end, then head north on 25A. Take it to Sound Road and bear left. Warning - I live in Wading River and it will soon get very crowded out here on the weekends.

Re: Apple and Pumpkin Picking on LI
Lewins is well before the vinyards. Once you turn onto Sound Ave, it's only about a mile or two down.
