Re: Been here a little over a month and want to quit...

I think just being there two weeks, most people probably don't even know you yet. What kind of reference could they possibly give you? I'm sure you have better ones and don't need this job just for a reference. Just go and keep it off your resume. A two week lapse in work isn't going to cause any red flags to a future employer. You could just explain it, kinda truthfully actually by saying you were moving and took the time off to do that. Not really lying.

Sometimes I don't know where I get half the crap I come up with. I amaze myself sometimes. I still can't believe they fell for it. Chat Icon

Give the 2 weeks - if you can (I know it's hard). I would be happy to help you look locally - happy to help out a fellow jersey transplant! it took me a while to get to know the area and what was "commutable".

I would just leave after a month and not even put it on my resume. Chat Icon

was thinking of doing that

I agree. Don't put it on your resume. You can say that you were temping while you were waiting for the closing of your house or something.

I did that.

y give 2 weeks notice when u have been there only 1 month--to me this is not burning a bridge to just leave--if its not workin out, its just not..no point sitting there for 2 weeks doing nothing if u truly hate it that much--plus u dont need a reference so what bridge could be burnt

I agree w / this, you haven't been there long enough to give them 2 weeks. I would just call them and let them know I am not coming back, but that's just me. No reason to make yourself miserable!

I'd give 2 weeks notice, but look for a job during those 2 weeks - while at work. Chat Icon

I have been trying to "peace out" for a year now, if you want to go just do it, don't get stuck like me!
