Re: Need Wedding Gift Advice - for a "second wedding"
I would buy a gift when you get to the place of the wedding. It will save you lugging it over and will allow them to exchange it if they would rather something else. That's what I usually do when I got to a wedding in Ireland.

They live here in NYC. The wedding is in Ireland.
I don't really have time to buy something over there. Once I get there... I will be knee deep in doing wedding stuff with him.
I am hoping to get this done either tomorrow or Saturday.

Re: Need Wedding Gift Advice - for a "second wedding"
Maybe I am alone in this, but I wouldn't even bring a gift then, just a card and give them the gift when they get back. I had a hard enough time getting gifts home from the catering hall, nevermind bringing them on the plane.
Even if you give them a GC or something that fits in the card, it is something else they have to keep track of in a foreign country, JMO.

buy something here and send it to them- I am sure they don't want to carry things back from Ireland either
I like the frame idea- or what about tiffany's candle sticks- there are about $100 for 2 - and they look like they are $500

It's a shame you won't have time to buy it there, because anything purchased by overseas residents in Ireland is Tax and Duty free. Maybe you could buy a gift at Duty Fee at JFK and still get a good deal. I would recommend some Waterford - they do great frames for $100 or less.

I would take a really nice picture of them in Ireland and buy a frame on the way back and give it to them when they come home, so that way they do not have to lug it home either. I am sure they are going to have enough luggage and gifts to take home.

Definitely! I wish some guests would have shipped their gifts to me instead of bringing them to the wedding. It would have been a lot easier

Re: Need Wedding Gift Advice - for a "second wedding"
I think it would be fine to give the gift when you came back, I would just to him I figured with all the stuff you were going to have that I would give it to you when you got back. Maybe just get a bottle of champagne sent to the hotel for them.
