I know it sounds harmless, but for one solid hr this morning..

There was an article in the paper this weekend about the group trying to monitor rudeness on the trains. I THINK it was the Commuter Council something like that. It was interesting.

DH got so tired of my complaining about noisy trains he bought me noise cancelling headphones for Christmas.

I had white trash girl dropping f-bombs the whole ride in and talking about how her f-ing boyfriend said if she was f-ing pregnant he was gonna f-in find her and stomp on her f-in stomach--um, hello--
...and the people in front of me talking about how inappropriate it was, but they didn't say anything!
Just as I was getting up to say something, she got off...although she probably woulda whooped my f-in azz.
Gotta love the good ol f-in LIRR

Ok what line are you guys on??? Everyone on my line loves each other on my line. They jump up to offer seats. They sleep. They offer candy. Oh yeah and then I woke up to someone whacking me in the head with his bag.

One night on the way home the train was crowded, and I was at the window on a 3 seater on the new train (less personal space!) and a guy wants to sit in the middle seat, and he proceeds to take out his laptop and start the typing !! I asked him, are you REALLY going to start typing???!!!! And he said yes!! I was dismayed....people are unbelievable...There wasn't enough room for his arms to actually type, placing the laptop on top of all his bags/crap...

OMG! I was just on an airplane and this trashy woman about 35-45 was dropping her F-Bombs on the plane. There were so many little kids. I was sick to my stomach listening to her. Though southwest should have kicked her off.....in MID AIR!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude next to me yesterday was clearly right handed and kept elbowing me in my side as he turned his newspaper page, drank water and ate a power bar. I guess he needed his left hand for something else?

Like I said, sounds harmelss enough but a repetitive noise for an hr in a confined space on an early train is annoying.
And...yes, I do need a vacation..but I just have no tolerance for the LIRR!

I take it out of East Rockaway because I drop off my daughter at daycare...I am either on the 8:58 am or the 9:54  ah, I love my blackberry....
On the way home, it's anywhere from the 5pm to the 7:33 pm...
the back of the train at night is SOOOOOOO much calmer...LB people (me being one of them) are out of their minds in those front two cars...

It may not have been the case here, but can you really blame someone for typing on the train if it allows them to leave work and get home to their family earlier?
Honestly, if I were typing on the train and someone asked me to stop, I would tell them that they could switch seats if they didn't like it.

I respect your opinion on this. If it helps you get work done to spend time with your family then so be it..great..
This was 7:10 this morning and he was on AOL instant messenger typing to his buddies about the plans for July 4th for an hour! The fact that anyone would have personal or business information out in the open on the train astonishes me. I use a blackberry on the train for business answering emails that I cannot while at work. I would never have my personal or work info out in the open on a laptop while someone next to me was able to see it. Who knows who the people are next to me. Same with cell phones..I make my conversations quick and to the point and low.
By the way..the way he was pounding on his laptop and the sound of the keys makes me believe that he is very hard on the machine. The keys were obviously loose creating more noise than just regular typing.
Ok, folks, it's no secret that me and the LIRR have a love/hate relaltionship..this is just one of the things that I just don't understand.
I have to take the train, I make the best out of it. Thanks for listening to me vent and thanks for the point of views..I really do appreciate it.

I work on the train. I can't imagine someone would tell me to stop - or how I would react if they did. There are people MUCH louder, MUCH more obnoxious than my laptop.
