i just read the linky for snopes disney movie shtuff and i did not know that the Song of the South one was real!! The NAACP really banned it from ever being released on video. Chat Icon

Well NAACP has no power to ban it, but they went back and forth over boycotting disney products.

It's released in the UK, and I really want a copy.

How weird is it that we have a RIDE based on the movie, but no movie in the US?

When I was little had some of the brer rabbit stories on audio cassette, LOVED them...I really want Song of the South to come out on DVD.

ETA: I think we can handle it. I mean it's a product of the time, and I think people can understand that. Maybe have an intor about it. But there are more racist things out in old films

Yeah I don't really think it's spooky. I was kidding. it's just a cutout! but you know when i was a kid, I was like "ahhh! a ghost!"

There is a version on DVD - supposidly unedited on ebay...it's up to $51

We have a dvd bootleg - I think DH got it off eBay.
