2 month shots!!!UPDATED
I am dreading 4:30! Aly has to have her first set of shots. is it really bad for the kids?? Im so upset
ETA did your DC have silde effects after the shots? fever etc?
update ___UGH. poor Aly had the shots (3 of them) at 4:30 - she has been wailing for hours and just stopped now at 11:30 PM. her leg is all red and swollen. I cvalled the dr and they said they want to see her tomorrow if its still like that. my poor girl. she is in pain and just keeps screaming. I gave her some tylenol but it doesnt seem to be helping..

Re: 2 month shots!!!
It's not bad but you can delay it if you aren't ready

Re: 2 month shots!!!
I freaked out too! Gracie was such a trooper and for 3 days after she had slight diarrhea and a low grade fever. Her little legs were sore too. Get infant tylenol and give it to her when you get home. IMHO, it is harder on us than our DC.

Re: 2 month shots!!!
I'd recommend giving the childrens tylenol BEFORE leaving home for the drs appt...so it has time to kick in and start working.

Re: 2 month shots!!!
I know how you feel...I always dread taking my dd in for shots...but its over so quick and once you hold her she will be better!! I agree, give tylenol before you leave...good luck!

Re: 2 month shots!!!
I was SO nervous and anxious before I took my little guy, but it really was not nearly as bad as I thought, and it's over so quickly. I agree with the other posts, I wish I had given him Tylenol before, I think that would've really helped. Youi'll do fine, don't worry! It'll be over before you know it!

Re: 2 month shots!!!
None of my kids had any reactions to the shots... even without the Tylenol before.

Re: 2 month shots!!!
I don't think shots are that bad at all. She cried for a minute or two afterwards but the nurse lets you know to just pick them up and comfort in any way possible afterwards -- and that's just what I did. I think she forgot them in no time.
She is always sleepy afterwards and one time did get a bit sick afterwards but overall it was NOTHING compaired to what I expect.
I try not to give OTC meds unless completely necessary so I'd hold off on Tylenol until after the shots, and then only if the baby runs a fever or is irritable. Have the doc recommend the correct dosage for your baby's size.

Re: 2 month shots!!!
Cranky, but not immediately after, 1-2 days after but that's all. Same thing w/ my sister's daughter. I guess all babies react differently.

Re: 2 month shots!!!
It's worse for parents than kids. Not sure if your pediactrician works the same way, but you should be prepared that YOU may have to hold her down for the shot (she'll forgive you). Make sure you hold her steady. Joseph moved while the needle was in his arm & had a HUGE bruise.:forlorn

Re: 2 month shots!!!
DD had hers today too. So far she has been sleeping a lot and cranky. The tylenol helped and so far she has had two doses and seems to be feeling better. Still sleeping. Hope yours is doing fine too.

Re: 2 month shots!!!UPDATED
Hang in there!! Poor Aly!
Maddie always had hard lumps on her legs where the shots were given. They lasted for weeks.

I'm so sorry!!! How is she doing this morning??? I am sure you are stressed. You know, my son did cry, but it was a couple of days after he was cranky and cried a lot. I feel so bad that Aly had such a hard time!
