LIPA!
OMG!  We just got our latest bill from LIPA on our vacant NY house (by the way, we just SOLD) and it was OUTRAGIOUS! I was paying less for that bill when I lived there.... I have to touch base with the realtor and give him a piece of my mind as well, because someone must have left the lights on in the house. Being no one is there, they electric must have been burning day & night for the whole month.... To think, we thought that this bill was going to be one of our cheapest...so much for that! If only these people knew what it was to have double the utility bills and maybe they would be courtious to turn off the lights! Thanks for letting me vent

Ok so I'm not the only one who was puzzled. My bill was unusually high and then i noticed the fuel charge was 40% of the bill !!!
So basically even if we had everything unplugged - we'd still be paying a significant amount ! LOL !

After looking over the bill, there was a hike in the FUEL charge .... over $30 worth of the bill. How outragious!

Thank god for this thread!!!! My husband just called asking me what the he11 I've been doing that made our bill so high!
