I like to do it without!
I use drizzle extra virgin olive oil on the crust, then top with mozzarella cheese (shredded), sliced roma tomatoes, fresh minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and fresh basil leaves.

That sounds great but I don't think my kids will eat it.

I make my own! Small can of Hunt's tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, basil and oregano. Once it reaches a boil let it cook for about 5-10 more minutes. My mom always said for pizza sauce it's more oregano than basil and more garlic powder than onion powder.

I use one can of tomato puree, half a can of water, some oregano, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Let simmer for about 30 minutes.

This is how I make mine as well...tastes even better in the summer with home grown tomatoes.
I also make one with homemade pesto...same as above just no tomatoes, garlic or basil leaves
