What kinds of things are you teaching your 1 year old right now??

Right now we are working on building with duplo blocks, eating with utensils (oh so fun & messy )
My mom is a teacher and she was telling me I should try to focus on 1 or 2 things a day, like colors or shapes or whatever and try to make it fun. We already name everything we see, do body parts, etc....what other things are you doing? TIA!

I am doing the same things you are. I am basically just letting him know of all the things we see. I also am doing the animal sounds with him.

We are working on using a spoon right now. Maybe someday we'll get to a fork We name things also and working on words like dog and cat.

i'm a speech therapist.. not a mom yet, but i just posted on another thread here today that "finger games" like itsy bitsy spider, patty cake, bear hunt, this little piggy... are all GREAT for helping to develop language, and joint attention, which we need for communication. plus, the kids love them! maybe start some of that kind of stuff with him?? have fun!
