What makes you feel old?

I feel really old when I can't understand the commercials on MTV. I swear they are speaking another language.

Everytime I walk past Abercrombie and the music is blasting I think "I'm getting old, I can't imagine shopping in there it's so noisy."

when i'm shopping with my 17 year old stepdaughter and the sales lady says "ask your mom" looking directly at me!

I felt old last week when I walked out of Hollister because the music was so.. loud and actually said out loud like a grandma, "This is ridiculous!"

When I hear about kids I used to babysit for; two are married, and 1 has been a lawyer for a couple of years.

Oh boy, I have a few things that make me feel old on a daily basis:
When anyone calls me ma'am I'm 28!
When I get out of bed and my body aches
The thought of going to a concert tomorrow night in the middle of a work week makes me feel OLD!
Talking to my kids at school about my favorite bands and them not knowing who the hell I'm talking about (Nirvana, come on? How do you NOT know that?!)

when i see the sign at places you buy cigarettes that says "in order to buy these you need to be born in the year 1989 or earlier" (or something like that)

i'm like holy crap - it seems like they are so young - hence, i'm so old! lol and now, in 2008, it will be 1990 - 1990!!! people who were born then are 18!!! geeeeeez!!

same thing when i hear "class of 2007" lol weird.

I agree with when I speak with or see the kids I babysat for---I took care of them at 3,5, and 7....and now they are 17,19,21

When I see teenagers making out and i get grossed out, when younger people than me are making way more money that I am, when younger people dont know what growing pains is, or the wonder years.

Oh, wait, I just thought of another one, when we have new teachers in my school who are younger than me I was the youngest in the building for a LONG time, and now I'm just bitter

the other day I went out to dinner w/my parents & my sister. we're at a red light and a car pulls up next to us BLASTING the stereo - you can't imagine how loud it was!!!!!!!

that made me feel old. I used to blast my stereo that loud once and now I curse those who do it

i feel really old every time my co-workers year of birth comes up in conversation. in 1984, i was 11 and living in southern california. i was at the summer olympics... HER MOM WAS PREGNANT WITH HER!!!!!

not too long ago, i felt REALLY old when i was listening to the radio in my car. the song that came on made me bubble with joy!!! hadn't heard it in a while, so i put up the volume and sing along....


... then i find out...

... it's the OLDIES station

I'm sorry but 1988 was not that long ago...and yet those kids are in college. Seriously, it wasn't that long ago. I remember going to Lobby Day in Albany and there were these high school kids there and the thought occured to me. They were born in 1992. Holy crap...they can't be in high school!

eh nothing, really..... to me old means mid 70's, and I'm barely 1/2 way there

I just don't relate to the young-uns....... MTV, abercombie.... it's simply edited out of my sensory experience. I can't relate at all, and frankly it was soooo long ago, I don't even pine for those 'good ol' days'....

When my best friends 12 year old daughter told me that she bought her first bra and started shaving her legs. All of I could think of was holding her in my arms when she was a little baby and rocking her to sleep and here she is taller than me and buying bras.

I felt old earlier today when I didn't know who Amy Winehouse was

I feel old right now because if I don't get my 7 hours of sleep, I'm lost!!

When our Music Together teacher tells us it is time to stand up and dance....um hello? I need HELP to stand up!! Especially with a baby in my arms - gimme a break, dance around the fat old lady please!

It's when I think about my little sisters. And they are not so little anymore, they are 24 and 28 That makes me feel old!!

I just had an example of this with DH last week... we were talking about something youngins do and it ended with 'wow, we're getting old'. Well, it proves it now because I can't remember what we were talking about when we said that.
