What should I do? Bring it up or not?
So yesterday Megan told me she pulled her friends hair in class and she got in trouble. No time out but the teacher spoke to her and she apologized to the little girl. I talk to this little girls mother all the time but not necessarily "close."
She said she did it because the other little girl was winning a race and she got mad. She is way TOO competitive! So I told her she cannot play wii for one whole day (she likes the bowling).
But now I am wondering, do I bring it up to the mother today at drop off? We talk every day before the kids go into school. If her daughter told her it happened and I dont say anything about it, am I wrong? I am not going to make her apologize again because she already did. But should I bring it up or just let it go? Not sure what the right thing to do is?

I don't think you HAVE to say something, but it's a really nice gesture if you do. Last year a kid in my DS's class hit him with a train, and I was notified about it at school (because he needed ice on his head!). Anyway, the next day the boy's dad came over to me and apologized about it. Totally unnecessary, I had no hard feelings about the incident (it was a one time thing, not a pattern), but I did think it was really gracious of the guy to do it.

If there was an incident report, it would not have the child's name who pulled her hair. I don't even know if this would warrant one as things like this happen! Your LO said she was sorry and they probably went on playing the rest of the day. I say don't bring it up. Hopefully your LO learned her lesson and won't do it again

Re: What should I do? Bring it up or not?
DD1 got into trouble for calling a classmate a 'loser' and had to write a consequence sheet that I had to sign (she is in Kindergarten). She failed to tell the teacher what led up to her saying this to the boy but I explained to DD that it was still not the right way to handle the situation and she was wrong for saying it even though I understood her reason for doing so. I made DD write an 'im sorry' card to the boy so I am sure the parents knew about the incident from that even though the teacher didnt mention it.
If I was the other parent I would like to know.... But this is just me...
this boy and my daughter are good friends in class and on the playground....they seem to do things and just move on like it never happened...

Re: What should I do? Bring it up or not?
Thanks guys.
I decided to wait until the kids went into school as to not embarrass my daughter. I asked the mother if her daughter told her what happened. She had no idea. So I explained the situation and told her that Megan said she apologized but I just wanted to make sure. Thats whats most important to me..that she realizes it was wrong and she says sorry. The Mom was SO SWEET. She said it was NOT a big deal at all and that her daughter is just as competitive. Made me feel better. I just wanted to make sure it was handled in the right way.
