what the longest
everyone has gone without ovulating..without any form of medication. You just then ovulated naturally.

If your cycle is over 40 something days then you are not actually ovulating at all. When you do eventually get AF you are getting it because the lining has built up so much that your body must now shed it.
The condition is called an annovulatory cycle. My gyno and two RE's confirmed that if your cycles are longer than 40 you are not ovulating. In the rare case when a woman might, the egg is not viable. This is the theory as to why my last IUI didn't stick, it's because I ovulated on CD27.
For almost ten years my cycles were often 80-90 days.

thats not necessarily true, though it is thought to be the case for most women. I thought I wasn't ovulating at all, and yet I got preggo on day 63.
Makes me wonder if I was ovulating in the months prior also, just very very late...

I don't think that's necessarily true. My last cycle was 60 days and I thought I wasn't going to ovulate, but then I had a very significant thermal shift and got AF at my normal LP length. They said those were clear signs of ovulation.
