Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

I don't recall DD having a bedtime when she was a newborn she just seemed to sleep all the time.

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

The first 2 - 3 months she went down around 10 - 11pm. She was a screaming baby every night!!!

If I had only know they sleep better if you put them bed earlier I would have started doing that at 2 months rather than 3. I think I was of the mindset that if I put her down too early she'd wake up early...but guess what, she was going to wake up anyway! I could have gotten a couple of quiet hours. Note for next baby!!

At 3 months I started her rountine at 7:00 and she's asleep by 8pm. That still holds true today (at 6 months)

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

We start the process between 8-9 o'clock.

He's usually out by 9:30 at the latest.

Jayden is usually out between 7-8pm... he'll be up at 2am for feeding and then wake up around 6am.

He would go to sleep at like 9:30 and then I'd get him up to feed him around 11:30 and put him in his pj's.

Starting tomorrow I going to try to give him his last bottle between 9-10 and then put him to bed then.

It's hard before 2 months but the sooner you set a routine the better. They'll get used to the routine and see that as the cue that bedtime is near. We start the routine at 6:30... bathtime, last bottle, storytime... in the crib between 7:30, the latest 8 pm. They wake around 3 am for feeding, ten back to sleep until 7:30-8:30 am.

One of the best pieces of advice anyone gave me was "Sleep begets sleep". The earlier to bed the longer they sleep. It's very true. They should be put to bed before they get tired. It's usually when they are overtired that we have the most trouble.

Ped said 3 month olds should be getting 12-14 hours in a 24 hour period. It's important for brain development.

About 8:30-9:00. Usually he'll be down for the count until about 1-1:30, then again at 5...if we're super lucky, 6. It's kind of a forced routine at 8:30-9 though...DD was/is a routine junky...she was in bed happily at 8pm every single night.

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

Mikayla was going down around 10-11pm for a while when she was a newborn....then at about 8 weeks or so, I started putting her down earlier (10, then 9:30, then 9, etc)

Now she is usually sleeping by 8:30 and sleeps until 7 or so....Chat Icon

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

I try to get Bella down by 10-11, because she'll wake for a 2:30-3 am feeding and then she'll go back down til about 6:30-7.

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

DD is three months old now....
She is usually asleep on the couch between 8-9:00pm. We move her upstairs and attempt to feed her a bit before going in her crib. She usually only drinks one oz. and she is out. She sleeps to about 4:00am and I feed her sometimes...other times I just out the paci in her mouth. She wakes at 6:00am and I bring her in bed with me and we sleep together (and have snuggle time) to about 8:00am.

Re: What time does your newborn go to bed?

my DS is just about 2 months old and goes to sleep around 10 pm, wakes at 1 and 4 to eat (only half bottles) and never has a problem going back to bed - we are very lucky.
