What times does your DC wake up? DS is waking up at 5am. I'm so tired!
DS usually sleeps at around 8pm and wakes up around 6-7am. However, these days he is waking up at 5am. I am exhausted!

Re: What times does your DC wake up? DS is waking up at 5am. I'm so tired!
Kaydyn goes to bed aroun 9:30pm and during the week we wake her up at 7:30am to go to my ILs and on the weekends she sleeps until 8:30-9:30am.
But she is older (19 months) and we did CIO starting at 8 months and if she happened to wake up early we let her cry herself back to sleep until we woke her up at 7:30am.

I used to feed DS cereal and veggies at 6pm....he would fall asleepn at 8pm...and then I would wake his up at 11pm to give him another bottle. THis would garantee him sleeping until 6-7am.
For the past week, I have decided to try something new. I give him his last bottle and food between 8 and 9pm....and he now goes until 6-7am. It's much better this way...I get more sleep! Try this!!

Well i disagree with the PP. Granted everyone is different, but for my ds... no matter time i put him to bed, he's up at the same time. So keeping him up later does nothing and just makes him overtired.
All i can say is that this is temporary. My son has done this as well. Unfortunately it lasted about 3 weeks. I have no idea why. But then he went back to his normal schedule.
Hang in there.

Keep your same bedtime, putting them to sleep later won't make them sleep longer. What are you doing at 5am, does he stay in her bed until 6? DS will wake between 4 and 5, I will go in once to soothe him and then he will have to CIO. He will usually get off to sleep w/in a half hour.
Keep him in the crib til 6am, he may eventually cry himself to sleep or get bored and fall back to sleep.

If anything, try putting him to bed earlier. My sons first 18 months he was sleeping by 6:30 everynight - waking at 6 the next morning. He would wake at 6 regardless of what time he went down.
I agree- that it can also be a phase that you need to ride out.

I agree with this. When my kids do this I have a 6 am rule. I dont pick them up or feed them until 6 am. I put on a mobile and let them whimper a bit. 6 am is my earliest!!

It actually makes sense and that's what we all think we should do in the beginning so no worries!
I've read every sleep book out there though, and they all say sleep begets sleep!
