What to do to lose the last 10 pounds?
I only want to lose 10 lbs. I tried cutting my calorie intake, and I saw slight improvement, but regardless of how often I work out or (seemingly) how little I eat, the 10 lbs. I gained since the wedding seem impossible to lose. Any ideas? I don't want to try Atkins because I need my carbs, and I considered WW but don't know if it is the right choice for only 10 lbs...

Are you eating enough fiber? It seems to be the only thing that helps me lose.

Re: What to do to lose the last 10 pounds?
I hope I didn't mislead you in the other post I answered. I think you can lose 10 pounds on WW, it just might not come off really fast. They had this quick 2 week menu a few years back that they gave out after New Year's that was designed to "jump start" your loss. If I find it at home, I will FM you with the info.

I would appreciate that.

Hmmm I think so, but maybe I'll try adding more.

Yes, with my thighs that would definitely take off more than the last 10 lbs.

Beth - what exactly are you doing when you work out? And for how long do you work out? How many calories are you eating?

Aerobic classes - that's how I lost weight and got toned for my wedding. I thought it worked pretty fast too!

I do kick boxing twice a week, last night I did a cardio class, and then 2 nights a week I usually ride bikes with DH for an hour. In terms of calories I've been in the 1000-1200 range. I've been doing fruit for breakfast, salad with fat free italian for lunch, and then grilled chicken with either salad or brown rice for dinner. Sometimes a 100-calorie cookie pack mid-afternoon as a snack.

Re: What to do to lose the last 10 pounds?
You're doing enough cardio, but I'd add some weights in. If you could fit in even as little as 15 minutes of heavy weight training before you do cardio, it'll help tremendously.
I'd eat slightly more calories than what you're eating (maybe 1400), and try to eat protein with every meal. Fruit and salad are good, but your body doesn't do much with it. Lettuce basically goes right through you; there's not much nutritional value in it. Can you make some scrambled eggs in the morning? Or eat a little bit of cereal with your fruit? Or yogurt? And then with your lunch salad, add some chicken or tuna or hardboiled eggs. Your dinners sound perfect
See if that works!

Ohh I forgot--I usually put deli turkey or marinated chicken in my salad for protein, but I do usually eat iceburg lettuce because it is my favorite. DH gets on me for the lack of nutritional value in iceburg. Maybe I will go back to special K with fruit for breakfast. I was thinking fewer calories would equal faster loss, but it just isn't happening.

Iceburg is full of water - that's about it! Red lettuce or spinach is way better. Fewer calories does not equal faster weight loss - trust me! Eat Beth, eat!
