What to expect from 2 month shots?

I am so nervous about my DD's first shots today. Just wondering how your DC did before and after the shots. What are the typical reactions? And are they usually immediate or delayed? Did you give tylenol automatically or just if there was a fever?

Also, do they do the shots at the beginning of the appt. or the end? I have a ton of questions for the doctor today and think it would be hard to do with a screaming baby!

I welcome any input! Thanks!

Re: What to expect from 2 month shots?

DS was supposed to get 3 shots, but I opted for him to get 2 and then I went back in a week for the last one. I first thought I didn't want him to get 3 at once, but then going back for the last made me sadder that I wish I got it over with... just a thought for you.

Anyway... didn't give tylenol to him. They gave him the shot at the end of the visit and yes... he cried and I started to get teary eyed. I hated seeing the real tears go down his face. I calmed him down then he passed out by the time we got him to the car. He just slept more that day. A few hours later your DC may get cranky, which is normal. That's when I get him the tylenol. The last visit for his 3rd shot he cried as well, but didn't need tylenol. I brought his paci so he was sucking that to soothe him.
Hope that helps

They had no reactions. They cried for two seconds and then were fine. if you BF, you can nurse her right after or give her a binky right after.
If anything, they might have been a little more sleepy that day.

gave tylenol 2x right before Ped said too and also a few hours later I did I also gave her a bath once we got home she loves the bath and then to sleep she was great thru her shots. ask all the question and concerns in the begin. The Dr also gave her sugar water to drip her pacifier in before the shots that seems to help.
