What to label for school?
This is the first year we have to provide our own supplies. DD will have a supply box at her desk. Am I supposed to label things like crayon boxes, scissors, markers? I'm guessing things like pencils and glue sticks just get pooled for the classroom? ETA - I was googling this and there are some schools where you label individual crayons and pencils. How common is that? I could do it, but if the supplies are pooled, that will be weird for other kids to have my DD's name on their crayons... Maybe I will ask the teacher what to label...

Re: What to label for school?
I NEVER labeled crayons or pencils. They just went into his pencil case that's labeled with his name. Sharpies work amazing. LOL! We have a label maker that we'll use to put on folders, books, pencil case, etc. For glue stick I might just put his initials somewhere, but those aren't that big of a deal if not labeled. The folders and pencils case are most important. Obviously backpack, lunchbox, water bottle, and jacket.

Re: What to label for school?
They only things we were told to label was notebooks, folders, art smock. Everything else is going into a community bin where the kids will share.

Re: What to label for school?
It really depends on the school, grade and teacher. Most will specify. For example, for 1st grade I had to label every pencil- this was specifically requested. In 4th, I only label the folders and notebooks.

Re: What to label for school?
We got a list of what to label.
For things like markers and crayons I just labeled the box they came in. I thought labeling each crayons was a little extreme lol, and the teacher's list did not specify.

We were told NOT to label many of the items because they go into a community bin. I prefer this. Imagine labeling a pencil. COME ON! If they run out ill buy more.

What to label for school?
I was able to stop in my sons class and I asked his teacher. He is going into first grade and his teacher said that she has OCD and prefers to label everything. I think she has stickers. My issue is that he has so many supplies that I can't fit it all in his backpack. I think I may send in the baby wipes and tissues on day 2 and just the folders and main supplies on the first day.
