What to wear for this wedding
Saturday night
Ceremony/Reception at same location @ 6:30pm
Location: Allegria in Long Beach
Invite says "Formal Attire"
I'm at a loss for DH & I. Never had an invite that specifically said Formal Attire
I have a goto navy blue knee length dress that I wear to most weddings
DH has a number of suits (for work) in various colors.

I would wear what I would normally wear to an evening wedding at a hall. I think maybe they wrote that so people don't think it's a beach attire wedding?
Anyway, what you described for yourself and your DH sounds fine!

Yes. Allegria is beautiful. I agree. I think they they wrote it so people don't think it's a beach wedding and want formal dress. I think what you are wearing sounds fine.

I agree with the other ladies.
Even when I see black tie, DH and I dress for a typical LI wedding.
I think some people who aren't from our area don't realize how dressy weddings are and come in sundresses/pants or shorts/khakis.

I agree as well - I think what you have sounds fine. If you are feeling fancy and have the time you can look around for something else - but otherwise a nice clutch, heels and some sparkly earrings and you will be good to go!

when people write formal attire, i think its meant for those people in the couple's lives that are slobs.
so just disregard. wear what you would normal wear to a wedding. The fact that you're stressing shows that you put thought into what you wear.
