what to wear on interview and ? about portfolios
hi
2 quick q's for a friend:
1: would you wear a formal suit for a school district interview or can you wear khaki's and a sportscoat (obviously this question is for a male LOL)
2: would sort of things do you bring with you on an interview? letters from parents, lesson plan examples, behavior plans etc? or is that overkill?
any help is appreciated!

Re: what to wear on interview and ? about portfolios
For every interview I have been on, I have always worn a suit.
As for portfolios, I feel like this varies from district to district. Some schools do not even look at it, unless you yourself bring it up. When I changed schools, I made up a binder of lessons that I had done. I picked one lesson from each unit I taught that I thought would stand out. So I had about 10-12 lessons.
I really feel like references (ie letters from admins, other teachers, and students) are unnecessary as if they are interested in you, they will call your references when the time comes.
