what to wear to a broadway show...
on a saturday night?
i've been to broadway many times but not on sat night. what would you wear?

what to wear to a broadway show...
I would wear a cute summer dress. But people don't dress up for shows anymore, even on Saturday night. You'll see plenty of jeans and shorts, so whatever you wear will be fine. I for one think it's nice to go out and get dressed though!

DH and I go to shows all the time - you can really wear anything. I typically wear a casual sun dress or jeans, heels and a nice top because I like dressing up. I wouldn't wear jeans and sneakers but people do.

ITA. DH and I go to plays pretty often - I usually wear a dress and DH usually wears jeans and a button down. I wouldn't wear sneakers.

You can wear anything, really. There is no dress code.
On a Saturday night, you'll see some people dressed up a bit more than others - generally, people will wear business casual wear. Lots of sundresses in the summer. Bring a cardigan though...the theatres get cold!
I always feel like I have to defend the "jeans and sneakers" crowd in the theatre...I work in the industry...often times, we get a last-minute offer of free tickets. As in, the show is TONIGHT. You go in what you're currently wearing! Believe it or not, many of your fellow patrons are those in the theatre world.
