What to wear when we are in the hospital

I know this has probably been asked before - but what is everyone wearing when they are in the hospital?

I am a comfy pj pant and tshirt type of girl - is that not going to be comfy for me?

What are you all planning on wearing?

I have been told to buy some pj's, but that gowns are better b/c they are always "checking" you.

I thought about buying some stuff but will probably only get a robe and wear over the hospital gown. Otherwise I am thinking a nursing gown since I will be breasfeeding.

Several people told me that you may bleed a lot and it will ruin your clothes.

my advice is-just bring a lot of things to wear. I had pjs for when company came. I slept in different ones. I did bleed on 2 pairs of pants. Tight pants are nice, they hold the pad in place.

I wore PJ bottems and a matching top during the day and a hospital gown at night to sleep - it was so comfy

I wore sweats and tshirts. I wasn't checked that much. Maybe 2x per day, and they just had me lay on my side and they looked down the back of my pants, didn't even have to pull them down.

I had a vaginal at Manhasset both times.

Honestly I wore the hospital gown unless I had visitors other than my parents and husband I put on pj's. You will be more comfortable in the hospital gown, especially since the dr's and nurses are always checking you.

I hate nightgown/shirts but it's what I wore because they were always checking you so it's just easier to get to then pants. Once I was home I was in PJ's and yoga pants for a long time.

I always found that pajama bottoms were the way to go with a t-shirt or button top..(depends on the month)

With all the company I was uncomfortable being in just a gown...

I packed both nightgowns and pjs (pants and top). I will probably wear the pants and top since thats what I always wear but if they are checking alot or I am uncomfortable with the pants then I will wear the nightgown. I knew if I didn't at least pack both types I would regret it. So now atleast I have a choice.

I wore the hospital gowns and put on a robe over it if I wanted to walk in the hall or for a visitor. PJ pants would be annoying because you'll be bleeding a lot and changing pads and being examined frequently.

i wore a nursing tank and a hospital gown over that.

I would rather wear pj pants, but, like everyone has said, you are being checked and cahnging pads - if you have a c/s it's not so easy to move around.

I wore the hospital gown the whole time. It was just more comfy to be checked in and change pads cause of the bleeding.

Even when I had visitors, i still wore it, I was in too much pain to get out of bed anyways when people were around.

I plan on doing the same for #2, worse case i can send someone across the street to the mall to get me something to wear :)

I wore the hospital gown the first day because I was bleeding alot! The second day I wore pajama pants and a nursing tank.

Hospital gown the first day because by the time I was brought to my room after the c-section it was 9 pm..and I was exhausted.

I wore gap body yoga pants and tank tops..when I had guests, I wore a black cotton robe from gap body also..

You should check them out..they have great stuff..I also got a pair of slippers

I had c/s, for the first 2 days, I stayed in a hospital gown (actually 2, one open in back and one open in front. After that, I was wearing nightshirt with yoga pants. I got up a lot to walk to help with my swollen feet so I wanted to be covered up a little more

I just wore the hospital gown with my bra and underwear. I wore a cardigan sweater over it when people came but no bottoms because I wasn't getting out of bed anyway. The room was too small for me to be up when visitors were there. And I was too uncomfortable getting up in front of others since blood gushed out every time.

I brought a robe too for when I was out walking around.
