What toys should a 3 - 4 month old be playing with?

Hannah really doesn't have any toys yet. She plays on her playmat and has recently started pulling the animals off and holding them. So I bought some more of those hanging animals for her.

What other developmental toys should I start buying? She's 13 weeks.

Measuring cups. Tupperware. A pair of socks. A piece of paper.

Everything is so new at this point! Don't worry about buying, you have plenty around the house that would be safe and interesting.

My son just turned 4 months and for some time now he has enjoyed playing with several lamaze toys, he loves swatting the ball fro his Oceanwonders kick & crawl aquarium. I just bought him this octopus from learning curve to keep him busy for long car ride and he loved touching and exploring every arm of it!

my daughter is just 3 months today and she plays with her kick start as well as her exersaucer cause she holds herself up good or else your supose to wait till there 4 months.

my ds at 4mths is still to small for his exersaucer, I have to support him with a blanket around his waist and supervise him. He loves it regardless!

Jillian loves kicking, and her playmat has rattles you can twist into the edges so I let her go to town on that for a bit.

At daycare I've also seen the people playing with light up toys, etc (that the baby can't play with themselves) with the baby so they can see it light up, etc. Which never occurred to me to do either..

Steven loves his jumparoo, exersaucer, anything Baby Einstein...they have these hanging things, kind of like the Lamaze octapus/jitterbug set, but they are shapes and he LOVES them. I got him the Baby Einstein exersaucer and he absolutely loves it! Hmmmm...trying to think. He likes his gym. OH, also the FP Miracles and Milestones kick and play piano and of course the Miracles and Milestones mirror.

No, he actually keeps his arms up in the air! His little legs are almost touching the floor but they are non-stop kicking and jumping! He is funny because when he is excited his tongue sticks out!

Luca likes his activity mat, his aquarium lay down thingy, rattles and toys that sing or make noises. He also seems to enjoy books. I think he will like his excersaucer but it's still a little big. He likes the doorway jumper for a few minutes but gets bored quickly. I think he'll enjoy that a lot more when he figures it out, right now he just kind of hangs there.
