What type of experience do you need in order to be the Director of a Daycare?

What type of experience do you need in order to be the Director of a Daycare?
A center in my area has a postion opening for the director. This is tempting. However, I don't know if I am qualified.
They don't have a posting up yet, so I don't know what they are expecting!

Some may require a degree in school administration and supervision.

I checked the posting and it requires a BA in Earlychildhood.
I am bummed because I have a MSed degree in Literacy but my certification lies in 7-12 English.
I am working towards my degree in administration right now.
Should I still apply?
