What type of kitchen countertop do you have and how much per sq ft?
We just got a price for our kitchen countertop and I just want to see if it is competitive.
We got a quote of $103.53/ sq ft for Icestone which is with DH's trade discount

I had never heard of icestone so I looked it up and it is gorgeous... and green! Most sites I saw said it starts around $100/sq foot. If you have the $$ to spend on a countertop like that, i'd go for it!
What color are you looking to get?
We got 50 sq feet of granite and it was less than $45/sq foot (plus we got a free stainless double undermount sink).

I live in FL and it's a local granite place down here that a co-worker's husband works for. Shop around though... we went to three different places to get quotes before finding this deal.

That is a great deal! We can't really shop around for icestone since there are not too many suppliers. DH really likes paperstone which is about half the $$, but I am not a huge fan. I guess I will have to think of other things to budget!

We had granite countertops installed in our kitchen this past spring...we paid $68/sq. foot - I love it!!!!
