What was your most creative shower gift?
I need a creative shower gift idea. The bridal party all chipped in to get the bedding, but we are getting separate gifts also. I don't want to get her another thing off of the registry. They are going to Italy for their honeymoon, so something Italian would be nice. I already gave them a bottle of Chiante (sp?) and wine glasses for Christmas.
TIA, Kelly

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My BMs got us a picnic basket and my favorite bottle of wine. I thought that was a great gift that we probably never would've bought for ourselves.

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My sister used these as games at my shower and they were gifts also.
The goodie basket:
A huge laundry basket filled with various necessities such as laundry detergent, soaps, shampoo, lint roller, dishwashing soap, kitchen towels, oven mitts, hangers, cleaning supplies, etc... you get the hint. Everyone was handed a piece of paper with each item listed with a blank line after it. My nieces all paraded the items for everyone to see and guess what the retail price was. then at the end of the game, the person who was closest to the total price of everything won a prize. And I got to keep the basket
The Kitchen Apron:
She took an embroidered apron with "chef ----" on it and attached various kitchen gadgets to it. It was put around my neck, I walked around to show everyone and then they took the apron off me and put it away. Paper was then handed out to the guests for them to see who could remember the most items that were on the apron.

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My MOH did an amazing job as she is also a part-time wedding coordinator.
Recipe/Spice box- She asked everyone to bring a recipe but also bring a spice from that recipie. She put all of the recipies in a book for me and all of the spices in a wonderful decorative basket. It was great because spices can be expensive and I've often not made a recipe because I don't have that particular spice.
First Anniversary Cards- She gave out blank cards to everyone at the shower and had them fill them out as our First anniversary cards. She recollected them and will mail them to us a few days before our anniversary.
Round the house presents- Her gift to me was a gift for every room of the house. Living room- Beautiful picture frame and photo album'
Dining room- Formal table cloths, cloth napkins and napkin rings I registered for and candles for the table
Kitchen- my every day flatware, decorative/holiday dishtowels.
Bathroom- can't remember... I think it was decorative soaps
Office- stationary
Bedroom- A Just Married set of panties from Frederick's and a set from Victoria Secret
I think that was it. It was VERY creative.

Recipe Box -
My MIL wrapped a shoe box in pretty paper, cut a slit in the top and mailed out cute, decorated blank recipe cards with the invitations asking everyone for a recipe.
Everyone brought a recipe and put in the box at my shower. I loved it. I got DH's aunt's famous broccoli salad recipe, and a bunch of other family favorites.

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My SIL gave me two HUGE ornament tubberwares filled w/ Christmas ornaments. Each ornament had their own slot. And each ornament was prettier than the next.
I couldnt wait for X-Mas to use them all........although she was probably collecting them for a while (I dont know how much time you have).

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My sister asked each of my bridesmaids for a "theme" regarding marriage (Patience, Compromise, etc). They all came up with their own ideas & she handpainted Christmas ornaments with each theme & put a tag on them with the bridesmaids' names.
Every Christmas when I pull them out for the tree, I think of my bridesmaids -- and how much I still adore each & every one of them.

I got this and I LOVED it! I got a beach bag, a few sarongs, a floppy beach hat, flip flops, suntan lotion. It really was a great gift! I also got a summer time picnic basket with margarita glasses, a few flavored margarita mixes, flavored sugar and salt for the glass rims, recipe books, chips, salsa, cocktail plates and a few other things I can't remember.
I am so not creative when it comes to giving gifts so I am getting some great ideas from all you ladies. Thanks!

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
For a shower I went to last week, I made up 2 baskets. One was mentioned above - it was a whole wine theme. From glasses, to wine, to coasters, to corkscrew set, cheese set, cheese speaders and stuff like that. The other basket I made up that everyone loved was a basket of all picture frames. That was something, I knew I did not get alot from at my shower and bought alot of picture frames after my wedding. I had 8x10's, 5x7's, 4x6's, speciality wedding frames, I also found a wedding journal and put that in there. I also found a set they have at Linens and Things and Bed, Bath and Beyond of 3 photo albums - one for the shower, one for the wedding and one for the honeymoon.
I have also seen the honeymoon gift bag, with beach towels and suntan lotion and flip-flops and stuff like that. I have seen a Margarita basket, a Martini basket.

I did this too and got my friend a personalized MRS XXX bikini. Since a bunch of us chipped in we also got her a TON of lingerie, and GC for their hotels (for massage, dinner, excusrions) You can do as much or as little in this theme to fit your budget.

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
Couple of things that stood out at my shower:
BP chipped in and bought us digital camera for HM!!
Sexy Lingerie
Helicopter ride around Big Island from my in-laws!!
Big tub filled with margarita glasses, mix, tortilla chips, etc
My BP made my wishing well Hawaiian Honeymoon themed which was great. Everyone was instructed to bring something we could use on honeymoon or Hawaiian themed - so I got beach towels, beach bags, tons of suntan lotion, flip flops, tiki candles, tiki picture frames - the works!! It was great!!

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
My sister made me two or three baskets with different themes. It worked out great for us b/c we closed on our house a few weeks before the wedding adn didnt move in til we got back from our honeymoon and i didnt have to go food shopping right away.
The first basket was baking, it had flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla extract, spices etc in it.
The second basket was italian theme or pasta theme, different types of pasta's sauces, pasta dishes, cheeses, breadsticks differnt maranades etc. There was also two embrodered aprons for me and DH.
The third basket was for the bathroom hand soaps, bar soaps, shampoo's, creams, tooth paste and brushes, hair sprays etc. This basket had towels and robes with our names on them.
I guess there was four baskets b/c the 4th was all cleaning products everything from windex to swiffers, bleach, sponges, towels, ajax paper towels and napkins.
These came in sooooooo handy b/c i didnt have to keep running out to get stuff and my pantry was more or less full when we moved in.

Re: What was your most creative shower gift?
I have also seen the idea of a couple of different little baskets made up for each of the holidays
For example: One basket with Valentines Day kitchen towels and little valentines day decorations. Another for St Pattys day Christmas Halloween 4th of July Thanksgiving etc
I loved this idea
