Re: what week were your twins born in?
I was put on bedrest at 25 weeks and mine were born at 30 weeks. They were in the NICU for about 5 weeks but for the most part were very healthy considering. Hope everything is ok with your cousin!

The girls were born at 32 weeks, luckily they had no major complications and spent only 2 1/2 weeks in the NICU mostly because I was readmitted otherwise they probably would have been released earlier.

Re: what week were your twins born in?
My water broke and I went into labor 31w5d, my doctor tried to hold off labor as long as possible but my boys were determined to come early, and I had an emergency section 32w1d.
They spent 4weeks in the NICU.
On a side note, I saw AMAZING miracles daily during my NICU time. 25 weeker twins, a 28 weeker, all thrived...these babies are stronger than you think and the advancements in neonatal care are really astounding.

Re: what week were your twins born in?
I made it to my scheduled C/section at 38 weeks, 3 days. I was lucky though - no bedrest, no issues the whole pregnancy.
I know lots of people from my local twin moms group who have had similar situations to your cousin and everyone ended up healthy. I hope it goes well for her.

Re: what week were your twins born in?
at my 24 week check up I was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced so I was admitted to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital on bedrest until my babies were born at 27 weeks 5 days. They are still in the NICU now, but growing stronger each day.
Prayers for your cousin and her babies

how are they doing?
They just turned 2 months old and they are still in the NICU, but getting better. My daughter is doing great and is getting big. She is off respiratory support and is basically just working on feeding on her own and then she can come home. My son, who was the smaller one at birth, has had more trouble. He still has a lot of respiratory issues and had to have surgery for his heart murmur when he was 2 weeks old. He is making progress and getting bigger, but will likely be in the NICU for a few weeks longer than his sister.
I just wanted to add that being in the NICU for son long I have seen many babies that have come in at 26 weeks and do really well and your cousin was really close to 26 weeks. I also have a former co-worker whose son was born at 24 weeks and was in the NICU for 4 months with brain bleeds and a number of other issues, but is now a perfectly healthy and happy 10 year old. Those babies are in the best hands possible. It is incredible what the NICU doctors and nurses can do. I will be praying for your cousins babies!!!
