Re: What were your major splurges for your new home?
you said Hooker!
well before we even moved in we did our kitchen completely, all new hardwood floors & a gas conversion. Our next slurge was our Family Room and then this year it was our Paver Project. We are in the house for 3 years. So one big slurge for each year. Got love tax returns.

Re: What were your major splurges for your new home?
our first big splurge was a 55 inch LED TV
that was a year ago
our NEXT big splurge is the kitchen reno
ETA: We also replaced the front bay window with an angled bay from Anderson - it made SUCH a difference in the room!

Re: What were your major splurges for your new home?
Um... everything? LOL .... dining room table was a bit of a spurlge but we figured we'd have it forever...
bedroom set we bought pricey as well with the same idea in mind...
couch future kids will destroy and those get replaced more often so no big spending there...
ETA: DH just HAD to have his 50 something inch tv so that cost a pretty penny... meanwhile we have more tvs than we know what to do with.... we have a 40in collecting dust in the unfinished man cave

Def furniture.
LR furniture was a splurge, our DR furniture will definitely be a splurge.
Also - tile for our master bath.

Re: What were your major splurges for your new home?
*cedar siding *replacing all our rear facing windows with french doors *travertine patio (mainly the size of it - 1600sq ft)
And none of those purchases happened when we first moved into our home. Our funds were spent on a new roof, septic, furnace, AC unit, etc..
From a "fun" standpoint, our built-in outdoor speakers, 7.1 in the master bedroom, bathroom speaker and 3 Apple TVs have definitely added to our enjoyment. I love being able to control the music & speakers from my iPhone or iPad anywhere in the house & yard. So I can be playing with my kids on their swingset 100' away from the house and pump the volume up on my favorite song.
