What will happen at first urologist appointment for Dh?

I am wondering what to tell him to expect.

I think for my DH he went over the s/a results, talked about what they meant, and I believe he did a basic physical assessment to make sure there were no visible problems?? He also gave a urine sample, but I dont know if that was becuase he had WBC's in his s/a. My DH had a good experience and I think he felt better after he went. The urologist eased the "I'm broken" feelings

dh's urologist encourages their patients to come in as a couple so i got to see it all. first we went in the exam room she took my dh's history. then she ordered some blood work to test all his hormones. then she left the room so he could put on a gown so she could do an exam. he layed on the table she felt his chest area down into his groin and then examined his genitals. she was talking and showing me "things" and i was trying hard not to laugh (its weird never seeing dh in a postion like this!) then she made him stand up, and he stood in front of her and with the gown covering him she put her hands underneath to feel his testicles for any varicoceles. its a bit more embarressing than anything else!

lol......at least he may be going to a male dr...my dh was afraid of what if something 'happens' when she grabbed his junk!
there was one thing that freaked dh out though. they had some tools set up next to some ky....i guess thats for the men who have prostrate problems but as soon as the dr walked in he said doc you arent inserting any of that in me are you
at least me and dh got a good laugh. he's seen me get pelvics so it was my turn to see him uncomfortable

DH went to a women which he hated but she was one of the best around.

She wanted me to be there with him.

She went over his previous SA results in detail.

She "Felt around" ...She took out a strand of beads and "measured" the boys.....looked for abnormalities etc.

It was a quick exam, but probably embarassing.
He lived though.

My DH had a ball sono which he HATED and the stuck their finger up his butt, which he wasn't too happy about either. Then a nice talk in the office with the doctor.

Good luck! I think what all of the ladies have said is accurate. I always to go DH's appointments with him. I think it is helpful for both of us. I am able to hear what is said and ask my own questions.

hi girls - i know this is a post from a couple months ago but it popped up as i did a search...

now i am at my wits end... we met w/ a fertility dr where he said my hubbys seman analysis was fine (since he is pushing to do insemination)
I always get copies of results sent to me.. now when i just read the S analysis report it said, too many wbc and should be treated (i guess with antibiotics) then retested.
i am concerned that my dr sorta disregarded that and wanted to go directly to IUI. its hard to ignore the report and just do IUI when a simple dose of antibiotics can do the trick...
what should i do now?????
should i trust dr (and get it outta my head that he just wants to do a treatment which is more profitable)
or should i explore this SA report?
and can his primary help us w/ this or will he send him to a urologist..
if u guys have any experience w/ this please help.. thank you
