Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
He's getting better, but for a long time a blanket was a "banklet". It just sounds so cute when he says it.

My nephew would say " cok-corn" instead of "popcorn"....my DH and I would try to correct him and then we would laugh

Jayde always says "hunny" instead of "funny". It is th cutest thing ever when she says, "Mama, I hunny!" and laughs.

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
Marron says alot of words, and most of them are correct, but these are my favorite incorrect ones:
sour = flower pincee = princess fuk = fork tit*y = kitty (say it with a T at the beginning of the word). Very funny as she is running after a cat yelling "tom 'ere tit*y" Dabby - Abby (the newest Sesame Street character) ba-na = banana hungy = hungry
and my favorite, that she no longer says incorrectly was dinky for binky.
I guess I should also add that I secretly laugh when, after I yell at her for something, she stands there yelling right back at me, so adamantly in almost all jibberish!

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
most of them my favorites are when he's talking to the dog though:
wipe paws Roo- "wup pizz Roo" or when he tries to get her on his bed
c'mon up Roo- "mon Roo" as he slaps the mattress
THIS is truly my favorite age with Roman yet.

I was relating to this because we do practice Buddhism and have a whole bunch of books on buddhism and some beautiful buddha statues from Thailand. I was wondering when Cailen talks if he will ask about them. There is one that he stares at all the time (its a wood wall covering) - according to Buddhism, its very good karma and the sign of a fortunate rebirth if a child is exposed to images of Buddha at a young age
That being said, Cailen is not much of a talker at 6 mts, but DH grunts at him like a gorilla all the time, and now Cailen is beginning to grunt back!!!

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
Not sure love but I find hysterical...
Percy - he often tells us how much he loves Percy (his favorite train from Thomas the Train - it's a green train). Well it comes out like puss*y. The first time he said 'I love Percy' was at the dinner table and out of no where and we had no clue what he was referring to for a week until he repeated while playing with his train Percy one day. We thought maybe he had been talking about ***** cats at first. We make him tell everyone about his love for Percy.

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
Our dog Ponch, is peesch. Mattingly calls Joey - De, and everyone else with a y at the end of their name is E. Ashley, Anthony, Sandy, etc, they are all E.
Joey refers to Mattingly as Mad - in - e, but most of the times sounds like me.
The one that bugs me is that Grandma's are ma ma, and I am Mom, so there is always a bit of confusion as to who they are calling, Grandma's alwasy think it is them.

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
Too many to list... I dont just secretly love them though, I incorporate them into daily language. My oldest use to call french fries "wuh whys" when he was small. He'd shout "Wuhwhy!! Wuhwhy!!" whenever we passed a McDonalds. I still say it sometimes and of course he has no memory of it.
Currently, my 16 month old says "Heyaya" for "Here I am" - soooooooo cute!! I even pretend I don't see him sometimes when he's right in front of me and call him to hear him say it.

Pampakes for Pancakes.
We always laugh and get a kick out of it. I've heard her say it correctly, but I think she says it the wrong way to get the attention.

Re: What words does your child say incorrectly that you secretly love?
Bryan does not talk yet (9 months..we get mamamamama and dadadaaa, but, that's all.,,I still think its just "sounds".)
My nephew would call my cat Simby's rather than Simba. I LOVE how he says "Like"...He says "Yike". Im not Aunt Dawn, Im "Aunt Dawnie". While I was pregnant, we didn't know the sex of the baby so we referred to the baby in the belly as "Baby B" (Our last name begins with B)....My nephew to this day still calls Bryan.."Baby B".
