What would you do if you had a LURKER on here that ran and told your family member what you wrote?

I know who it is but curious how you would handle the situation.
I will be seeing her very soon!
I know how Im going to handle it but wont say-

Well- I guess I'd mention it to the lurker.

BUT- I always make sure I only post information that I don't care about my family knowing about. I guess if I saw something someone I knew posted I'd assume if they were posting about it on a public forum, then they don't care who knows- KWIM?

It's a public message board- you have to remember that ANYONE can see.

Rather than get all ****** at them, I'd just calmly ask them what they hoped to gain by passing along whatever you'd written.

Like you said, it's kind of high schoolish- so she should be embarrassed that she stooped to that level.....

I would probably tell them to take it someplace else since there's nothing to be starting trouble about.

I don't understand why people enjoy trying to start trouble for the hell of it.

I avoid the situation altogether and do not post things I wouldn't tell my family or my friends myself - sorry that may not be the answer you are looking for but it surely saves me possible (and probable) grief.

the funny thing is, is that my family member told so many people and who knows who they are telling so I go on a specific board on here to give hope to other posters on how to do something and Im the bad person for writing about it.

I really cant wait till I see this person- oh apparently they just stumbled onto this website- dont believe that for a second!

and the kicker is what I wrote was back in june and the lurker told my family member in late august-
very scary ladies- almost like stalking

I had something similar happen. I think I've told this sotry before. back in college I had an online journal. it was not PW protected because i didn't have any identifying info in there.,,except I made one major mistake. i had copied and pasted part of an IM conversation and in one instance I missed blocking out the SN. So I was found out by either my SIL or FHs cousins or some combination. However, they read everything completely wrong..and then decided to tell my FH's parents that I was cheating on him. They thought I had posted about getting down with another guy. To their surprise, it was about him. LOL But anyway, then the parnets called up FH (and I was there) and they said 'Jennifer's cheating on you" and he said "No, she's not" and they siad but we read her diary. "NO, she's not" LOL

I just keep my distance. There's nothing you can say. She probably doesn't think she did anything wrong anyway

I would totally call them out on their stalkish behavior but thats just me. I am sorry this happened to you - it seems to happen to several people around here. IMO I think these people are freaking losers - get something else to do with your life!!!

Besides kick their azz, I would confront them. Ask them what their deal is. Also, ask them if this is how they would appreciate being treated. How rude of them!!

Some people are so nosy and need to mind their own damn business! But you have to also remember that it is a public site.

I'm sorry that this is happening to you. Some people are very jealous and "telling" on you is their revenge or way of dealing with those feelings. We should all remember that this is a public site and anyone could be reading. This is the reason that I do not post pictures of myself or my DH....too many lurkers looking to find out about our lives. I wish you luck confronting this person.

Honestly, Don't post things you don't want other people to see. I've seen it happen SO MANY times in the past.

I might mention it to them but I'd probably just wouldn't be "friendly" with them anymore

I would confront her and tell her what is it her business to repeat or tell family member's what i write, so people have nothing better to do than stir the pot!

confront the lurker first-ask her if he/she really did it or not. once they confess-i would ask them why they did it, their reasoning for it.

then i would call them out on it...

some of these ppl on here are REAL losers and have nothing else to do except start trouble b/w families-which i cant see WHY they would want to do it...i kinda feel sorry for these losers, but remember...KARMA is a beyotch..and these ppl will get it...
