What would you feed your picky 8 month old for breakfast?
My DD is 8 months and no matter what I try, she hates and gags on fruit. She only seems to like savory foods. She cannot have eggs or dairy of any kind until 1 year (not even yogurt.) I feel like all she gets is grains most of the time. Should I feed her meats and veggies at breakfast too or should I just not worry about it and let her have cereal, puffs or cheerios and her bottle?

Have you tried that net food thing that they hold and sort of suck the food out of?
DS likes bananas in that

I would let her have cereal, cheerios, puffs nad her bottle.
Just remember, DC needs only the bottle for the first year

Re: What would you feed your picky 8 month old for breakfast?
How come she can't have dairy? I use to give my DD yogurt and fruit for bfast at that age. Or a scrambled egg. But if she can't have dairy why not try pancakes? Or oatmeal? Earth's Harvest makes 2 great organic instant oatmeals for kids (Apple Cinnamon and Maple Brown Sugar). My DD loves it and has it for bfast every day. Maybe a smooshed up banana? I would play around with different table foods until you find something she likes. Good luck!!

I'm having a similar issue (you know Mia and Tristan seem to have the same appetite! That is - none! ) He'll usually have some yogurt mixed with prunes. Why is she not allowed dairy?
You can try some shredded wheat or similar cereal mixed with formula - let it go mushy. I've just bought mini pancakes and waffles for T, but I haven't tried them on him yet.
If she only likes savory, what about some bacon (but watch the salt) or ham?

Re: What would you feed your picky 8 month old for breakfast?
Thanks for the suggestions. My ped. advised that because of her cow's milk sensitivity, to wait until 12 months before starting her on any dairy products. Maybe they just want us to error on the side of caution.
I may try looking into some pancake/waffle products to see if any are egg free (I am doubting it though.)

What about soy yogurt? Ava used to love that when she was a baby and allergic to milk. They also make soy cheese. I believe Vans makes egg free and milk free waffles.
