Whats happening to my face?

No joke, my face has BROKEN out in these red small bumps...look like small zits. They are ALL over both cheeks...I feel like a girl going through puberty. I have never gotten zits, and have clear skin. Its so extreme I thought about going to the doctor ASAP. Is this normal?

Re: Whats happening to my face?

I've heard of this happening to someone at the end of their first trimester. I also read about the possibility of it happening to some in one of the pregnancy books. Sorry!! Hopefully it doesn't last very longChat Icon

My first trimester ends on Sunday. I would be happy to hear that because it makes me feel like its semi-normal...

I would still call your OB, and possibly ask them if you should see your dermatologist...

If it's really small red spots, it could be contact dermatitis or some allergy Chat Icon Our immune systems get a little nuts while pregnant, so anything is possible.....

feel better!

I've heard it's normal. However, if your concerned about it or it's itchy, I would see a dermatologist. Also make sure you wash your face twice a day with a cleanser that is gentle.

Re: Whats happening to my face?

I have pimples too Chat Icon I had them all thru my pregnancy w/Hayley and so far I have had them since about 8 weeks. It feels like braile on my cheeks. I do get some bigger ones and I also get them on my back.

Re: Whats happening to my face?

I had clear skin for years but had horrible breakouts with my DD, not with my DS. It was pretty bad, but it did go away in the 2nd tri.

I'd still have a dermatologist look at it if it seems like something more than a pimple break out.
