Whats next to failed clomid?
Hi, Im new to this forum. I got PCOS & we have been ttc for almost 1 year.. finished 2 cycles of clomid. but no major follicle has developed. due to unavoidable situation discontinued next cycles of clomid for 2 months & my doctor said thats fine & we can start over again. So this month we are again going to consult doctor. Im afraid that this cycle might also be failed.. whatever i do i cant keep away from my negative thoughts. So whats next if i dint respond to clomid?

Are you seeing a RE? Usually if clomid does not work, some will try Femara next, then injectibles.

I had only one follicle each time I used clomid. After 3 failed IUIs with it they tried a different drug but I got the same results. It wasn't Femera though, but I don't have the name here. Id have to look it up at home later. But it was oral.
But just an FYI, with the IVF stims I got 17, so who knows why you respond to some meds and not others.

I did 3 cycles of Clomid and then I moved on to injectables- Gonal F.

Quick question if you're on clomid (or femara) should the dr try femara (or clomid) for 1 cycle to check response or just move onto gonal?

There's no real answer to that. Some people move onto femara because of side effects on clomid. Some people don't respond to one and try the other. Some people go right to injectables. There's no right or wrong way.

i would skip femara altogether if you have no response from clomid. i would just go to injectibles but start slow since its easy to hyperstim with pcos. good luck.
the best way to stay positive is just to remember that even if you have problems conceiving, a vast majority of even the most difficult cases generally have good outcomes. with science and medicine its relatively uncommon to try EVERYTHING and not end up with a baby at some point. just try to remember that whether it happens this cycle, or a year from now - it wont matter in the long run of having a kid. never lose sight of the goal to have a baby. The here and now matters so much less in the long run. Hopefully your journey is short and you never really have to worry about any of this. Good luck!!

Yes - check with RE. After clomid we moved to injectibles but that was after 4 iuis with clomid. Depends on how you feel and advice of RE. Good luck!
