jsut failed clomid cycle- need some encouragement
I know I dont post here that often, but I lurk a lot, and right now jsut feeling really down- could use soem encouragement. got period today after being on clomid this month. #1 was a clomid baby- it worked hte first month I was on it. total unexplained infertility, and I am young, age not an issue. anyhow, we have not been using any BC since she was born, but i was nursing till a year. i weaned 4 months ago, and jsut finished first clomid cycle- I REALLY had my hopes up, being that it worked the first time with #1, stupid of me, i know. plus i know people on here have been through a LOT more. but night i'm all worried that the clomid wont work- we absolutely can't afford IVF right now, and i have no coverage for it. i do have coverage for injectibles/iui, but i sort of feel - if they dont know whats wrong, how do they fix it? anyhow, really having a down night. just needed to vent.

Re: jsut failed clomid cycle- need some encouragement
I'm so sorry!
Are you seeing an RE? I would definitely speak to them and see what they think your best options are.
Remember, the Clomid alone doesn't increase your chances THAT much, and most people don't get pregnant on their first month of anything!
I would give the Clomid another shot and maybe pair it with an IUI. See what your doctor thinks is best

not seeing a RE now- i did when we trying for #1. my OB agreed to put me on clomid for 3 months, if it doesnt work, he would send me back to the RE. not going now because much more convenient to go to OB for now- but if it doesnt work next month, i may jsut go back ot RE instead of doing a third month of clomid with OB. i dont know.

I think with the clomid you should make sure you get sonos and bloodwork done so they can tell when you are surging. Thats's how my drs do it. Hope this helps! Again, best of luck!

Re: jsut failed clomid cycle- need some encouragement
If the Clomid worked the first cycle, it will work this time around. My friend has gotten pregnant with all three of her children on Clomid. The first was the first month she took it. The Second was the third month she was on it The third was the third month she was on it.

Re: jsut failed clomid cycle- need some encouragement
My DS was conceived with Clomid- I had been seen by a regular OB for about 8 months on Clomid/BD and finally made the best decision of my life and went to an RE...I got pg. on my 3rd Clomid/IUI ...We did not use anything after he was born (and no luck)and finally when he was almost 2 went back to the RE- was on Clomid/IUI for 5 cycles and it didnt work for us that time around and had to go forward w/ IVF (no insurance as well for IVF)...After one chemical and a 2nd IVF I am now 26 weeks along with #2...I was 31 with #1 and am almost 34 now, mild PCOS and no other factors....I only say all this because I would hate to see someone waste any valuable time with an OB like I did...I too thought for sure that since Clomid worked once it would work again and thankfully I was under the watchful eye of an RE and took the next step...I hope Clomid works for you this time though !!!!...If you do need to persue IVF- the grant is still in place and it can be very helpful...Good Luck
