What's on your walls?

Do you have art? Mostly photos? Mirrors?

I'm not really a huge art fan - I know it sounds funny...but it's so rare something really strikes me enough to want to look at it on the wall every day. I'd much rather put photos up, but it's only DH and I - how many pictures of us can I have around!

Just curious what others have.

Re: What's on your walls?

Next to the front door is Sarah's christening portrait.

In the living room I have our wedding portrait over the love seat and a piece of art over the couch. On the end tables are random snapshots of our family members (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.)

In the dining room I have an antique map.

In the den I have a piece of art we picked up on our honeymoon over the couch and then this Warner Brothers animated thing (it's a scene from a Marvin the Martian cartoon) over the love seat. On the 3rd wall is a collage of stuff that's all Duke Univ. related (a piece of Cameron Court from when they redid the floor, our wedding invitation and Sarah's brith announcement both autographed by Coach K). DH is a HUGE Duke fan.

Along the stairs are mainly wedding photos, but I tried to use mostly group shots. There are some pics from our honeymoon in one collage frame and then Sarah's Christmas portrait. We have a big antique mirror at the top of the stairs.

In the guestroom are 2 pieces of artwork.

In our room are mostly wedding pics of the 2 of us, and some of Sarah. And our ketubbah is up in there.

Sarah's room has a collage of her every month on her birthday. And a wall vase with yellow and white flowers in it. I have been really bad about getting stuff for her room, and now that she's moving into the guest room in a few months, I'm just waiting to see what bedding I get her before I really start decorating her room or redoing the nursery.

Re: What's on your walls?

I have yet to finish painting/ renovating our house, but we will be putting up pictures mostly(wedding and vacation shots(mostly scenic)). We also like alot of black and white pics/posters which we will be putting up such as poster of James Dean( still deciding if I want this), posters of dogs lounging on sofas and beds. The only real art work we have is for the dining room, I believe its a french painting, but I can't remember the name of it.

Re: What's on your walls?

In the front hall we have a water color by some french guy that my grandma picked up in Paris 35 years ago. Leading to the kitchen we have a water color I did in an art studio when I was 9, it is a winter scene of a house in the snow. In the kitchen we have a print that is 47x31. It came from a museum in DC and fills up a lot of that wall.

In the living room we have our TV over the fireplace and to the right of that we have the degas dancer in bas relief with gold overlay. It is my absolute favorite piece of artwork.

I saw this canvas artwork online that you need to make - but I think I want to purchase it for over our couch.

We have a LOT of windows in the living room/dining room (great room) there are 8 of them (2 are double windows so really 6 window frames).

Upstairs we have a print by Dufe from London (picture of a window with flowers). Over the bed we plan on framing and hanging our ketubah. It is a lithograph and has a lot of artwork on it.

In the second bedroom we plan on hanging a print from an etching my mom did and a collage that DHs mom made.

In the bathrooms we have beach scenes.

We have photos of us and family photos in picture frames on the mantle over the fireplace and on shelves and desks.

Degas Dancer this degas dancer is whatr i have except i had it framed in a shaddow box frame that has gold where this frame is black and i added some more matting.

A mix- some groupings of photos, some of those little ledge shelves with assorted things, a few prints, a cool map.
