What's the cost for roughed in plumbing?
I am trying to find out the cost for roughed in plumbing - pipes in place but no faucets, dw, or shower heads, the cost per the fixture. I was quoted $600 each fixture by one guy, with another $400 to finish for a total cost of $1000 per sink, dw, or shower. Seems so much to me.
I have read on another forum that in Connecticut $600 should be the entire finished cost and $400 the roughed in cost. Should I be looking for a new plumber?
Anyone know? I am trying to figure out a budget so I know what I can afford. Thanks. I am way out on the east end and our prices can be awfully high because of all the summer people.

Re: What's the cost for roughed in plumbing?
I would think that each situation would be individual based on how much work was required to run the pipes from point A to point B and how much material was needed too. To say that in CT it's a flat rate for roughed in work leaves to much to chance - it doesn't indicate the quality of the material (ie plastic vs. copper) or the distance from the water source to the location. $1000 to run lines for a sink sounds like alot if you're talking about connecting to plumbing lines already in the room and the drain lines are in place, but if you're adding a new bath and have to run water from the main source in the basement and run new drain lines from a second story where none exist it's a whole different story and $1000 could be a good price.
