i think the boulevard has more padding or side impact padding, something along those lines...do you have baby bargains? It explains the differences between all the britax car seats

The 55 and 70 refer to the weight limit. The newer seats go up to 70 lbs so they are regular price. The 55 weight limit seats are discounted because they have a lower limit and because they're older models. One thing to double check is the manufacture and expiration dates of the seat you purchase - a 55 model may have just been produced, but it may also be more than a year old (meaning you have that much less time to use it before it expires).

The Boulevard has a higher weight limit and True Side Impact Protection - vs Side Impact Protection (which the Roundabout and the Marathon have).
Also - I believe that you don't have to manally re-thread the straps on the Boulevard (I know there is automatic adjustment on the Marathon) when you need to adjust the height like you do on the Roundabout.
I have a Roundabout 55 and am happy with it. DS is 2 and is barely 26lbs so he'll be able to be in there for awhile.

Actually - the Roundabout 55 came out at the same time as the 70lb limit seats (Marathon, Boulevard, etc). Prior to that - it was a Roundabout 50 so they should have the same expiration dates. The price is less because it has less bells and whistles.

Thanks - I actually read too quickly and thought they were both Boulevard seats! My bad.
Yes, the Roundabout and Boulevard have different features other than the weight limits.
They are both highly rated seats in terms of safety. The boulevard has the side impact protection and the wings for the head so it provides extra safety. And you can use it longer. And a great point about not having to re-thread the straps as baby grows! This is a WONDERFUL feature!

Yes - it's still a good seat. But, you will have to uninstall the seat to rethread the straps (which doesn't happen that often).
Another seat to look at is the Marathon. It's the same size as the Roundabout but, it holds up to 70lbs and has the auto-rethread feature.
We have a Roundabout 55 and a Marathon 70 and I love both seats. We also have an older Roundabout 50 in FILs car that I like as well.
